Jackson
County Health Department to Conduct
Additional H1N1
Clinics
On Thursday, January 21st,
the Health Department will conduct a
clinic for people of all ages. The
clinic will open at 8:00 a.m. at the
Jackson County Health Department located
at 504 South Church Street, Ripley. It
will conclude at 3:30 p.m. The vaccine
is free of charge! We will not
be billing insurance. If you child
received their first dose at another
location, you will need to bring proof
of that vaccine.
In order to assist with the flow of the
clinic, you might like to complete the
registration form prior to your arrival
at the clinic, it can be downloaded at
www.jacksoncountyhealthdepartment.com
or you can pick up a copy at the Health
Department. Having a completed form
does not guarantee your vaccination.
It would also assist with the flow of
the clinic if those receiving vaccine
would wear clothing to make your upper
arm accessible (short sleeve shirt or a
shirt that your sleeve can be pushed up
easily).
Wendy Crawford, Emergency Preparedness
Coordinator, would like to encourage
everyone to receive the vaccine. As
this is new strain of influenza, the
future of the disease itself is very
unpredictable. The vaccine will help
the body to build immunity to the H1N1
virus. The Centers for Disease Control
and Prevention recommend that everyone
be vaccinated even if they have already
had the influenza itself.
Addition clinic dates have not been
established yet. If you have questions
regarding the vaccine, please contact
Wendy at the Health Department
(304)372-2634.
